Spring - Condensed Time
Int he years since we moved to a house with large yard, removing ivy has awakened flowers long just waiting for a chance to pop out of the soil again. But now in turn, the bluebells have started to become a pest and spread every year. And while pretty little flowers are nice, I'd like to keep the non-native plants restricted to some border areas, so I've been trying to catch the flowers and rip them out just as they wilt, before they go to seed.
This has focused me in yet more on how condensed time becomes in spring, how much happens in a few short weeks between winter cold and dry summer heat. It is also happening to me, internally. Every year siunce observing the yard, I feel like I realize new things that I cannot remember whether I saw them the year before. And so my time understanding also condenses down yet again.
A consequence is feeling like I'm the last person on Earth to realize this, like so often. But consciously I know that not to be true, which is why I'm dropping this thought here.
